Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take?
The usual in-shop repair time is 14 to 30 days. This is based on season changes and surges of orders from the Internet. There is usually a running back-log.
Authorized repairs can be completed in a few days, estimated repairs take a bit longer.
How much will it cost?
Repairs range from $135(minimum repair charge) to around $195(complete overhaul). This
depends on the amount of time and parts needed to complete the repair. An
example of a common repair is replacing several relays, and electronic components.
We clean and throughly test the board and include a 90 day
What is the difference between a Estimated Repair and a Authorized Repair?
An Authorized Repair means we will attempt to fix the problem when it arrives. It includes up to 3 relay replacements and fuses if necessary.
If the repair exceeds $135 or requires further troubleshooting it becomes an Estimated Repair. An Estimated Repair is quoted
prior to any work. This is for boards that need further troubleshooting and electronic parts.
How do I Pay?
We will e-mail you an invoice from PayPal. Click on the link, then input your
credit card info. PayPal will complete the transaction on their secured server with
buyer protection. We will both receive e-mails when the funds are transferred.
Spa-Boards pays the service fee. Let us know if you wish to pay by check. You can mail a check instead of paying with PayPal.
What should I send in with the board?
We stock the most common spa Top Sides
, temp sensors, and transformers to use for testing purposes. Sometimes we will ask if you can send in the
top side control or sensors. Depending on the type of failure, we may not be
able to give it a final test without the accessories.
What's the cheapest and quickest way to ship?
USPS Priority Mail, Flat Rate Box ($12.95 & 2-3 days) with delivery confirmation
beats most carriers in both cost and speed. The Priority boxes are free at the post office.
We use the USPS primarily for return shipping at a standard cost of $13 and the
post office is across the street from our repair shop.
How do I follow the progress of my repair?
Once you create a repair order, you will receive an e-mail with a username
and password to logon to our system. After you have shipped in the board, logon
and enter your tracking number. This will help us plan for your board's arrival time.
We update your account with the Board Status
as it goes through the repair process. Check in daily to stay informed.
How much does it cost to test my board?
We have a $65 Bench Test charge for the testing and evaluation of a board.
This includes the circuit board, topside control panel & sensors. If you
don't know which part is bad, let us check it out. If a repair is necessary, the
Bench Test charge will be applied to the cost of the repair.
I got the board back but the Spa still doesn't work
This is a common problem we often hear about. We can only test the functionality of the board and take pride in our work. There
are many other parts of the spa that can fail. Have the other components checked-out prior to sending the board back. If you send
the board back and we find nothing wrong with it, you will be charged with return shipping.
Do you offer technical support for the Spa?
Unfortunately, we can not offer troubleshooting of the Spa. However, we can provide our customers with available wiring diagrams, error code descriptions, and other common issues.
Refer to your spa manual, manufacturer, or Spa technician for more detailed information.
Do you service International customers?
Yes! We have repaired many boards for our friends from the north in Canada.
Charges are expressed in US Dollars and payment is made through PayPal. Canada Post shipping works well. We don't recommend shipping via UPS because they charge us
inbound tariffs & handling based upon value. Spa-Boards also has severed customers in the U.K. and Austrailia and looks forward to serving other international customers and welcomes all inquiries.
